Canva Tips

Designed in Canva? You’re in the right place. Canva is a great design tool — and with a few quick checks, your file will print clean, sharp, and exactly how you expect.

Step 1. Create your design with "Custom Size"

For physical products, we recommend using "inches" as its the best way to make sure the canvas will scale up properly.

Step 2. Upload your design to your canvas

Your canvas will be representative of the actual size of your product so be mindful of how large the image is. When resizing, Canva will show the height and width of your design.

Step 3. Choose PDF Print

Choose these exact settings and you are ready to save your file. If you must upload a PNG instead, skip to Step 4 to see which settings to select for PNG downloads.

Step 4. Selecting the correct PNG settings

For certain products that you will see up close, it is recommended to upload at 300dpi. On Canva, you want to slide the size slider all the way to 3.125 to achieve 300dpi. For outdoor signage, this is usually ok to leave at 1.
